All about true longevity

A sensitive atlas of perspectives on long life, illness, and healing. This section is not a blog or a manual. It is a mosaic of concepts, images, and perspectives that explore longevity as a complex and deeply human experience.

Longevity

Longevity is more than the extension of years: it is the balance between body, mind, and environment. It reflects biological processes, social conditions, and cultural meanings intertwined.
Above all, longevity is the art of inhabiting time with awareness, care, and purpose.

Aging

Aging is a multidimensional phenomenon involving biological, psychological, social, and cultural aspects. It is not only a physiological process, but an experience intertwined with identity, relationships, environment, and shared meanings.

Deases, Illness or sickness?

In medical anthropology, distinguishing between disease (the diagnosed biological condition), illness (the subjective experience of distress), and sickness (the social and cultural dimension of being unwell) is essential to understanding the origins and complexity of any form of illness.

The longevity body

At the center of this section is the body: the desired, imagined, controlled, trained, medicalized, and commodified body. In the Western imagination, the long-lived body is often conceived as beautiful, young, high-performing, resistant to disease, and sexually active.

But the body is much more than this image. It is not merely a biological machine to be optimized, nor an object to be possessed. It is a lived, sensitive, relational body, exposed to time, environment, culture, and memory.

Longevity Body begins here: from the need to understand what we truly mean when we speak of the body, and the longevity one.
